Set beneath the crashing waves somewhere off the coast of Oz, Mermaid Royale is a sight to behold. It's beautiful and pretty and all those fancy words. But more than anything else, it packs more punch than a tidal wave breaking square on ya noggin!

There are 25-paylines to play on and a 50,000-coin top prize, which are both fairly standard. But the gameboard is 5x3 and there's a special 3x1 Bonus Row that spins simultaneously with the gameboard, which definitely isn't. Symbols

So let's start with the scatters (of which there are three). The first is a +3 Free Games regular scatter that only appears in the main 5x3 gameboard and awards 3 free games. The second is a +4 Free Games special scatter that only appears in the 3x1 bonus row. It triggers the Free Games round when appearing with a combo of 3 or more special and/or regular scatters and awards 4 free games each. The third is another special scatter called the Treasure Chest. It only appears in the bonus row too. When 3 of them land in this bonus row, you get 3 respins with the 3x3 Oversized Symbol locked on reels 2, 3, and 4.

After these, we have a run-of-the-mill Wild symbol. It substitutes for low and high-paying symbols plus any Treasure Chest scatters appearing in the 3x1 bonus row. However, it doesn't sub for the +4 Free Games special scatter, +3 Free Games regular scatter, the retrigger scatter or Oversized Symbols.

  • Each special scatter appearing on the 5x3 gameboard awards 4 free games with a Random Booster

In addition, a single Random Booster is added for each special scatter that appears during the Free Games triggering spin. Also, during the free games, reels 2, 3, and 4 will transform into an Oversized Symbol reel that spins simultaneously with reels 1 and 5. Finally, 1 extra free game is awarded for each retrigger scatter that lands in the bonus row.

Respins

If 3 Treasure Chest scatters or a combo of Treasure Chest scatters and wilds appear in all 3 positions on the bonus row, you get 3 respins immediately during which reels 2, 3, and 4 transform into a 3x3 Oversized Symbol that locks in place. The remaining reels 1 and 5 then keep spinning while the Oversized Symbol stays locked.

Random Boosters

A Random Booster can only be activated when 1 or more special scatters appear during a Free Games triggering spin. If this happens, you get 1 Random Booster for each special scatter.

In addition, a Random Booster is also added for each retrigger scatter that appears in the bonus row during the Free Games round. The Random Booster features are:

  • A full stack of wilds on reel 5

Expanding Wilds
